About us
We are a married couple in our later 70s (2013) and we live in Northern Ireland.  Ann was born in Belfast, the capital of NI, and has lived near there all her life.  John is English and has a very mixed pedigree!  He was born in Belgium (of English parents) and has lived in many places since then.  He is vaguely surprised to find himself living in NI!
Ann was an Orthodontist and is personally responsible for many of the lovely smiles that can be seen on the lasses (and lads) of the Greater Belfast area!  She retired in 2000.
John was a logistician and Staff Officer in the

British Army for 37 years.   He retired in 1991 and has lived in Northern Ireland since then.
We are both on our second marriages.  Between us we have five children from our first marriages and ten grandchildren - about all of whom we are immensely proud - with good reason!
Ann has done a lot of offshore sailing.  Much of it was with her first husband on the west coast of Scotland but also including much of the circumnavigation of the world that he did in his Hallberg Rassy 45 in the 'Europa 92'.   Until a few years ago Ann kept horses and was a keen fox-hunter - not at all for the pleasure of killing foxes but because it was a personal challenge and good fun.
John has not sailed all his life - yet! - but he hopes to.  Before Faustina II he owned two yachts.  The first was a Macwester Malin (31ft LOA) called Catherine Fair which was (nearly) ideal for Channel trips when his children were young.   He next owned a Sadler 34 (called Faustina) which he kept for about 12 years and in which he sailed, often single-handed, to much of the Baltic and most of the Med.
The burgees on this page are of the clubs of which John is proud to be a member.

Postscript (2020)
Having reluctantly sold F2 to a 'good home in the country' (The Hamble) we decided to buy a land yacht - aka a Camper Van.  This we did and we now own F3 which we have used to explore some of Ireland.  Sadly the Covid-19 problem has much curtailed our activities, as it has for many others, but like everyone, we hope for better times ahead.
